Chilli Garlic Prawns is one of the easiest Prawn recipes around the world. Here is my version that requires very less time and yet is mouth watering. The only precaution one must take while frying Prawns is not to over-fry them. If you fry them for too long, they turn hard and spongy and nobody likes such overcooked prawns.

Recipe Ingredients

  • 10-20 Tiger Prawns
  • 2 tbsp - Lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp - Turmeric Powder
  • 2 Small Cubes - Butter
  • 4 tbsp - Olive Oil
  • 2 Chillies - Finely Chopped
  • 6 Cloves of Garlic - Finely Chopped
  • 1 tbsp - Salt
  • 1 tbsp - Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 Cup of Chopped Coriander Leaves


1: Wash and devein the Prawns and apply lemon juice, salt and turmeric powder over them. Keep this aside for around 5-10 minutes.

2: Now in a Pan, heat 4 tbsp of Olive Oil and when the oil is moderately hot, add butter to it. The oil will ensure that the butter does not get burnt in the pan.

3: After the oil is moderately hot, reduce the heat and add the finely chopped garlic and chillies to it. Fry this for around a minute and this will allow the flavors to set in the oil and butter mixture.

4: Now, move the Prawns to the Pan and stir fry each side for around 4 minutes on a low flame. If you want the dish to be a bit spicy, add 1 tbsp of Red chilli powder during the frying process.

5: After 8 minutes of frying, your Chilli Garlic Prawns will be ready to be served. Garnish the final preparation with chopped coriander leaves and serve with Rice or just like that as a starter.
