Half Fry Egg, Sunny Side Up Egg Recipe

Half fried egg is considered to be one of the healthiest egg recipes in the world. It also takes very less efforts to make this.

Half Fry egg is a very popular dish in India. In other countries, it's usually called as Sunny Side up Egg. Since it's mostly consumed during breakfast, it is quite essential that the time taken to make this should be less.
Here I have shared a very basic recipe to make tasty Half Fry Egg.

Recipe Details

  • Serves: 1 person
  • Preparation Time: 1 minute
  • Cooking Time: 2 minutes

Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tbsp - Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp - Red Chilly powder or Pepper Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp - Salt


1: In a flat Pan, heat 1 tbsp of Olive Oil.

2: Once the oil is heated, reduce the stove flame and pop open a egg directly into the pan. Ensure that you are at a safe distance from the Pan while doing this and do not throw it from a height.

3: Evenly sprinkle 1tbsp salt and 1tbsp red chilly powder or pepper powder on the egg and cook for 2 minutes on a low flame.

4: Your half fry egg is ready to be consumed directly or with Bread slices.
